Live Feed Puppy Cam!!

Live TV by Ustream

I'm a little late to the party on this one but I want you to tune in before it's too late. It all started 5 weeks ago when a San Francisco couple decided to put a live feed of their litter of six Shiba Inu puppies on a new website called Ustream.tv. An astounding 4 million people have tuned in to watch the cuteness unfold on a daily basis. The puppies have also been featured on CNN, MSNBC and the Today Show.

They are all spoken for so don't get excited about adopting one. You can continue to tune in until it's time for them to go to their new homes.

A Dog as Mayor????

We have another historical moment in American history!! I was watching CBS Sunday Morning and saw the funniest story about a little town named Rabbit Hash in Kentucky that actually voted a dog as their mayor! That's it. I'm moving to Rabbit Hash! I LOVE these people!!!

Ten dogs, one cat, one opossum, one jackass, and one human being vied for the ultimate position of political power in this small Ohio River community in Boone County, Kentucky. It was a dog-eat-dog race. Lucy Lou, picture above, won the race.

Here is their website where you can learn all about them and see the results of the race:

R.I.P. Gus

GULFPORT, Fla. – A one-eyed, three-legged dog that won the title of world's ugliest pooch this summer has died. The St. Petersburg Times in Florida reports that Gus, a Chinese crested dog, had cancer. He was 9. Gus was rescued from a bad home and went on to win the annual World's Ugliest Dog contest at the Sonoma-Marin Fair in northern California.

Gus came from humble origins. According to the fair, his adopted family in Gulfport, Fla., rescued him after learning he was being kept in a crate inside someone's garage.

He had one leg amputated because of a skin tumor and lost an eye in a cat fight.

Gus' owner had said the prize money from the contest would be put toward the dog's radiation treatment.

Have You Signed the Obama Dog Group Card??

The Humane Society of the United States has come up with the greatest idea. What a way to bring attention to the cause of adopting/rescuing.

They have created an on-line group card that will be delivered to the Obama Family to help them welcome their new dog. As of this writing over 1,800 people have signed it and it is over 700 pages long!

Here is a link so you can get in on the fun and post your message to the new First Family! The card will be delivered on November 21.

The Day After....

Edie had a blast yesterday on her birthday!! Turning two is a lot of fun. She got a phone call from grandma and a few emails......

She visited with Peete and Ginger. Peete was extra gentle and playful with her.....

We took a long, fun walk. Afterwards she took a much needed nap.....

We ended the day with a good bath, some playtime and then some grilled chicken for dinner. Edie was the star of the day.....

Happy Birthday!!

Today is Little Edie's second birthday! My little girl is growing up so quickly!!

This is a very special day. We have so much going on today!! First a fun pack walk with her friends Peete and Ginger. Then later some special play time with Percy and Agnes.

Today is also Auntie Karen's birthday and today Karen welcomes her new addition, Oliver, the yorkie. Stay tuned for pics and wonderful stories about the newest member of our dog family.

Last but not least I must pay triubte to the real Little Edie Bouvier Beale who was also born on this day in 1917. Edie will be having some liver pate for dinner to help celebrate her namesake.
